 over the past two years related to accreditation and charging fees for 
 representation of veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs. 
 While some purport to stop illegal practices\, many in fact interfere with
  our members right to practice as delineated in 38 U.S.C. &sect\; 5904 and
  implementing regulations. At the very least\, most of these bills create 
 confusion for veterans and their accredited representatives. Derek\, 
 Megan\, and Benjamin have all successfully advocated in their respective 
 states\, educating their elected state representatives on issues important
  to our members. They will discuss how they built those relationships\, 
 how they countered misinformation to effect change\, and provide practical
  tips for how you can do the same in your local jurisdictions. *********
