NOVA Presents Stacey-Rae Simcox with the Veterans Community Service Award

Congratulations to Stacey-Rae Simcox who received the Veterans Community Service Award at NOVA’s Spring 2022 Conference!
 

This award is presented to a person or organization that has provided outstanding service to America’s veterans, or to programs and legislation that positively affects America’s veterans.  Stacey-Rae is a NOVA member and long-time leader in the clinic community.  She is the founder of the Lewis B. Puller Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic at the William & Mary Law School, as well as the National Law School Veterans Clinic Consortium, where she served as its President and Board member for six years.  Her leadership in the clinical movement has helped launch a robust network of clinics across the country and assist veterans gain not only disability benefits, but medical care, housing, and job opportunities.  She is currently a Professor of Law and Director of Stetson University College of Law's Veterans Law Institute and Veterans Advocacy Clinic.  In this capacity, Professor Simcox helped to establish a unique medical-legal partnership between Stetson University College of Law and the University of South Florida's Morsani College of Medicine which allows medical students and faculty to collaborate with law students and faculty for the benefit of disabled veterans.
