Ancillary Benefits: Understanding VA Benefits Beyond Compensation and Pension

Presenter: Diane Boyd Rauber, Esq.

Wednesday, September 16, 2020
2:00 p.m. ET

While most advocates are familiar with monthly monetary benefits, VA offers an array of ancillary benefits to veterans with disabilities.  For example, depending on their disabilities and rating evaluations, veterans may be eligible for housing and automobile benefits, a clothing allowance, caregiver benefits, and life insurance, among others.  Diane will provide an overview of such ancillary benefits to help you ensure your clients receive all the benefits they have earned, detailing eligibility criteria and filing requirements.

Diane Boyd Rauber is NOVA’s Executive Director, joining NOVA in September 2015 as Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs.  Prior to NOVA, Diane served as Associate General Counsel for Appeals with Paralyzed Veterans of America, overseeing client representation before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals.  She also previously worked as of counsel to the Law Office of Wildhaber and Associates and as a staff attorney for the National Veterans Legal Services Program, representing veterans and their families before the Board and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
