NOVA Presents Javier Centonzio and Amy B. Kretkowski with the NOVA Pro Bono Advocate of the Year Award

Congratulations to Javier Centonzio and Amy B. Kretkowski who received the NOVA Pro Bono Advocate of the Year Award at NOVA’s Spring 2022 Conference!
 

This award is presented to a NOVA member or members to recognize their achievements or a continuing pattern of excellence in support of NOVA’s commitment to provide pro bono assistance to veterans and their families.  Javier is recognized for his outstanding pro bono service through The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program (Consortium). 
 

Javier Centonzio - Javier has not only represented numerous veterans through the Consortium, he has also volunteered to screen cases.  He was previously honored by the Consortium for his service.  Javier is a combat veteran, who attended Stetson University College of Law after serving.  He clerked for Judge Robert N. Davis on the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and founded his law firm in 2015. 
 

Amy B. Kretkowski - Amy has not only represented numerous veterans through the Consortium, she has screened cases and mentored attorneys.  She was previously honored by the Consortium for her service.  Amy has dedicated her entire legal career to veterans law, starting with a clerkship on the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims with Judge Mary J. Schoelen.  She is a solo practitioner and teaches an upper-level course in Veterans Benefits Law at the University of Iowa College of Law.
